A pastor grinds it out every week, answering the questions his people are carrying, and his sermon never gets found after a few weeks. Thousands of people can find him on a Sunday, but they can’t ask him a question on a Tuesday, and that is what we build for. When you ask, the pastors and mentors who already answered are the ones who answer you.
The Challenge
Everyone’s words are available to you.
Nobody’s counsel is.
There is a fitness coach I know only through his books and videos, and I am never going to ask him a question or walk with him and have him be my mentor. That is the whole problem in one sentence. You can find the mentors, but you can’t turn them into a mentor, you can’t ask them questions, and you can’t walk with them.
Their job is to answer their followers’ questions, that is what they do, so the answer you need was already given. It went out to a room, three years before you thought to ask.

EDGE Mentor Intelligence is the layer underneath everything we build. It finds the moment somebody actually answered a question, and hands it to whichever app is asking.
A living person, in their own recording
A pastor or a mentor who is alive is played from their own recording. We never put words in a living person’s mouth.
Verified against a voiceprint
Before a moment is attributed to someone, the audio itself has to agree it is them.

We say nothing when we do not know
When a mentor has never spoken to your question, the app tells you so. A product willing to refuse is making a promise about every time it does not.
Nothing here speaks as God
Mentors point you to Him. That is not a feature we left out.

Why We Do This
It started in a parking lot.
Help others love their neighbors is my personal mission, and it drives everything we build. The stress is on their. EDGE never loves the neighbor for you; it equips the person who already has someone to love.
It started for me in a food bank parking lot in Douglas County, the fourth wealthiest county in the country, watching people sit in their cars for fifteen minutes and drive away without going in. That parking lot became The Community Impact Fund, a nonprofit I founded and still lead, which makes interest-free loans through employers, churches and credit unions so an emergency does not turn into debt. The whole story is told there.
Every company I have built since has been the same problem in a different place: the help exists, the person who needs it exists, and our work is the distance between them.
